Plyometrics refers to exercise that enables a muscle to reach maximum force in the shortest possible time (3). The muscle is loaded with an eccentric (lengthening) action, followed immediately by a concentric (shortening) action.

Love plyometrics. It is an effective way to stay in shape even for lifestyles on the run. If I am working away on the computer and can't get away for a workout but having worker's block. I get up do some jumping jacks, jump squats, etc. We have all hit a wall at work, this helps you get in shape and open up any blocks that you may have.
